Riot Games was founded in 2006 to develop, publish, and support the most player-focused games in the world. In 2009, Riot released its debut title, League of Legends , to worldwide acclaim. League has gone on to be the most-played PC game in the world and a key driver of the explosive growth of esports. With League in its second decade, Riot is continuing to evolve the game while delivering new experiences to players with Teamfight Tactics , Legends of Runeterra , VALORANT , League of Legends: Wild Rift , and multiple work-in-progress titles. Riot is also expanding the world of Runeterra through multimedia projects across music, comic books, board games, and Arcane , its popular animated series.

Riot Games aspires to be the most player-focused game company in the world, building incredible esports and entertainment experiences deeply rooted in games. Extending and deepening the core games experience with esports and entertainment (e.g. our Emmy-winning animated series Arcane) to inspire fandom is the primary reason that Riot invests in esports today. This is core to the culture of Riot, and why we relentlessly focus on the player experience. We don’t go broad with our games, we go deep in service of our players to earn their loyalty and fandom. And esports are a great catalyst of fandom.

In short, we’re all in on esports at Riot and are dedicated to creating a sustainable future for teams, players, and fans.
